Michael Babker is a multi talented IT professional and Joomla! developer. He has eight years of experience in the US Army as an Information Technology Specialist performing in several roles including Help Desk Team Leader, Network Administrator, System Administrator, and Information Assurance Security Officer. As a Sergeant in the Army, he is directly responsible for the morale, welfare, and professional development of a team of junior Soldiers. He has been stationed in Germany, South Korea, and the United States and has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In addition to his military IT experience, he has been developing with Joomla for over three years and works closely with the project, currently serving as a member of its Production Leadership Team. He specializes in optimizing performance in existing code, developing libraries and extensions to enhance Joomla's code base, maintenance of Joomla's CMS and Framework unit testing suites, and development of custom solutions for the Joomla CMS and Framework.
Michael holds an Associate of Arts in Information Technology with a concentration in Web Design and is CompTIA A+ and Security+ certified.
