Earlier tonight during the J!OSCAR Presentations at J & Beyond, I was voted by the members of the Joomla! community to receive the GitHub Junkie Award. I must say I'm very honored to have received the award, and though I didn't actually say anything when I received this one, quite honestly, the exact opposite is true.
The last couple of months have seen me go somewhat silent in my public coding endeavors. I haven't done many patches to the J! code as of late, my own projects have been sitting a bit dormant for a little while, and all in all, aside from a few occasional mentions and tweets, I've kinda allowed myself to drop off the map.
For the last year and a half, FLBab.com has served as my banner, my brand, my online home in the development world. Nothing fancy, nothing big. But as with all good things, eventually they must evolve into something bigger. That is why today I have shut down FLBab.com and moved operations under a new banner, BabDev.
As Joomla! 1.6 reaches its official End of Life (EOL) today, and future versions of Joomla! will reach EOL much quicker than in the past, I felt it important to clarify my support stance concerning Joomla! development.
An often requested feature of Joomla! (at least in the year and a half I've been hanging around ;-) ) is the ability to assign articles to multiple categories. Well, the code isn't going to write itself, so if we want to see that feature in six months with the next release, now is the time to start!
