Podcast Manager 1.7 Beta has been released today and is now available for download. This is the first beta release of the forthcoming version. Since this is a beta version, it is NOT recommended for use on production sites.
Changes since 1.6.1
This release adds a constantly requested feature, the ability to produce multiple feeds from the component. In doing this, many of the parameters have moved from the component level to the new feeds views. All aspects of the main management component are modified in some form; the new feed admin views, the podcast admin views being updated for this new information, the menu item link having a parameter for this added, and the front end feed producer modified to handle the new data.
With this release comes numerous SQL changes, including the addition of another table. Using the standard upgrade process, these updates are not being automatically applied. Before the stable release, this will be addressed. For those wishing to upgrade an existing 1.6 installation to 1.7, an updates SQL file is available by unzipping the installation package, locating the file at 'com_podcastmanager/admin/sql/updates/mysql/podman_17.sql', and manually running the statements in the file via a tool like phpMyAdmin, ensuring to replace the #_ prefix with your site's table prefix.
Update from 1.6.1
Since this is a beta release, no entry has been added to the update feed used by the core extension manager. Users wishing to use this version must download the release and install it over their existing installation.
